Accessibility

How to best view our site: We suggest the following browser, font options, links, and other accessibility viewing settings for the best viewing experience while visiting our site. These are general suggestions only; refer to the documentation for your particular browser for more specific instructions.

We also provide the option of viewing the site in a text-only format.

This page includes tips for using and viewing PDF documents.

We hope you find our site useful, and we encourage you to bookmark it and visit us again.

Browser Version/Viewing Window

This site is best viewed with Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher or Netscape 4.0 or higher

Internet Explorer Netscape

You can also increase your viewing area by reducing the size of your browser's toolbar and menus.

  • Internet Explorer
Choose View, then try checking and unchecking toolbar, status bar and Explorer bar preferences. Under Toolbars, deselecting Standard Bar will remove the bar from the top of your browser window. Deselecting Status Bar removes the bar from the bottom of your browser window.

You can place your mouse cursor on the toolbars at the top of your browser window, and if you click and hold the left mouse button, you can move the toolbars up, down, left, right and place multiple bars on one line.

  • Netscape
Choose Edit, Preferences, Appearance. Then check to show toolbars as "text only." Netscape only allows up and down movement of the toolbars.
Font Size
Want to make the text size larger? You have this option on Web pages where the text is in HTML. Just tell your browser to view the text in a larger font:
  • Internet Explorer
Choose View, then Text Size in the drop down menu.

  • Netscape
Choose Edit, Preferences, Appearance, Fonts. Then use the drop down menu to choose a font size.
Underlines/Links
For readability reasons, we suggest turning off underlines on hypertext links.
  • Internet Explorer
Choose Tools, Internet Options, Advanced tab. Scroll down in the Browsing section, to see the options to "always," "hover" or "never" underline hypertext links.

  • Netscape
Choose Edit, Preferences, Appearance, Colors. Then under the links colors boxes, uncheck the underline box.
Other Accessibility Options
Every browser has many options that you can choose to personalize your viewing experience. You may want to try playing around with some of the settings to see what works best for you.

Did you know you can place your mouse cursor on the toolbars at the top of your browser window, and if you click and hold the left mouse button, you can move the toolbars up, down, left, or right and place multiple bars on one line.

  • Netscape
Choose Edit, Preferences, Appearance. Then check to show toolbars as Text Only. Netscape only allows up and down movement of the toolbars.
Text-only
In order to view any page without images or graphic elements, choose the "text-only" icon at the bottom right of the page. The page will reappear as text, with navigation links included at top and bottom. You can continue navigating through the site in the text-only version, or use the back button on your browser to return to the standard Web page.

PDF Tips

A PDF (Portable Document Format) allows documents to keep their design and remain a complete document online (versus being turned into separate HTML pages). You need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view PDFs, then you can view, save and print.

Viewing PDFs

  • Use the linked bookmarks on the left hand side to quickly move around the pages
  • Use the page drop down arrows on the bottom tool bar
  • Change the size of the page/view with the Page icons

Saving

  • Choose the Disk icon in the top tool bar, then give the file a name
  • On some PDFs, you can select File and Save As, then give the file a name
  • Make sure you take note of where you save the file on your computer

Printing

  • Choose the Print icon in the top tool bar
  • On some PDFs, you can select File and Save As, then give the file a name and print at your convenience
